Arts and Letters

All Awards

Each year the American Academy of Arts and Letters honors over 70 architects, visual artists, writers, and composers with awards and prizes ranging from $5,000 to $100,000. Candidates for awards are nominated by members of Arts and Letters with the sole exception of the Richard Rodgers Awards for Musical Theater, for which there is an open application. Award recipients are chosen by committees drawn from the membership. These awards are an important way for our members to support artists who are not members; members are not eligible to receive monetary awards.
