Over 120 paintings, sculptures, photographs, and works on paper by 37 contemporary artists will be exhibited at the galleries of the American Academy of Arts and Letters on historic Audubon Terrace (Broadway between 155 and 156 Streets) from Thursday, March 6 through Saturday, April 12, 2014.
Exhibiting artists were chosen from a pool of 150 artists nominated by members of the Academy. Participating artists are eligible to receive one of eleven awards, which include five Arts and Letters Awards in Art, the Award of Merit Medal for Sculpture, theRosenthal Family Foundation Award, the Jacob Lawrence Award, the Gwendolyn Knight Lawrence Award, the John Koch Award, and the Willard L. Paintings, works on paper and sculpture in the exhibition are eligible to be purchased and donated to an American museum through the Academy’s Hassam, Speicher, Betts, and Symons Purchase Fund. More information about this fund can be found here.
