Paintings, sculptures, and works on paper by 37 contemporary artists will be exhibited in the galleries of the American Academy of Arts and Letters on historic Audubon Terrace (Broadway between 155 and 156 Streets) from Thursday, March 10 through Sunday, April 10, 2016.
Exhibiting artists were chosen from a pool of nearly 200 nominees submitted by the members of the Academy. Participating artists are eligible to receive one of six awards, which include five Arts and Letters Awards in Art, the Jacob Lawrence Award, the Gwendolyn Knight Lawrence Award, the Willard L. Metcalf Award, and the Rosenthal Family Foundation Award.
More information about these awards can be found here.
Paintings, works on paper and sculpture in the exhibition are eligible to be purchased and donated to an American museum through the Academy’s Hassam, Speicher, Betts, and Symons Purchase Fund. More information about this fund can be found here.
