NEW YORK, MARCH 12, 2025 – The American Academy of Arts and Letters announces the five recipients of its 2025 Awards in Architecture, which honor both practicing architects and those who have contributed to the field through other mediums of expression. Arts and Letters’s annual architecture awards program began in 1955 with the inauguration of the Arnold W. Brunner Memorial Prize and has since expanded to include four Arts and Letters Awards. This year’s recipients were chosen from a group of individuals and practices nominated by the members of Arts and Letters. The members of this year’s selection committee were Meejin Yoon (chair), Elizabeth Diller, Michael Maltzan, Toshiko Mori, Annabelle Selldorf, and Nader Tehrani.

The annual Arnold W. Brunner Memorial Prize of $20,000 may be given to architects of any nationality who have made a significant contribution to architecture as an art. The 2025 Brunner Prize will be given to the British architect and educator Farshid Moussavi.

Andrés Jaque, Neri&Hu, and Young and Ayata will receive Arts and Letters Awards of $10,000 each to recognize American architects whose work is characterized by a strong personal direction.

Architect and educator Mark Wigley will receive an Arts and Letters Award of $10,000 to recognize those who explore ideas in architecture through any medium of expression.

The architecture awards will be presented alongside the art, literature, and music awards at Arts and Letters’s annual Ceremonial in May.

A full list of the 2025 architecture award recipients follows.
